Overview

In 2025, political Hamburg once again gathered on the first weekend of July at Else-Rauch-Platz in Eimsbüttel. Live music, discussions, workshops, and street food marked three days of Methfesselfest in its 52nd edition. Free admission, organised by volunteers.

The 2025 edition continued the unbroken tradition of the Methfesselfest since 1973. In the heart of Eimsbüttel, at Else-Rauch-Platz, left-wing initiatives, anti-fascist groups, and local residents met for three days of political neighbourhood festival. A stage program ranging from punk to indie to singer-songwriters, interspersed with discussion rounds and workshops.

As always, catering was self-organised — bars and street food stalls were run by the participating groups on a voluntary basis. The proceeds went towards the next edition and donations to charitable and political initiatives.
