Overview

The 51st Men's Pilgrimage took place in May 2025. As every year, the men started early on Saturday morning with a blessing in St. Nicholas Church Reckendorf, walked to the Vierzehnheiligen pilgrimage basilica via Wiesen, and celebrated the pilgrimage service with a torchlight procession there in the evening.

In 2025, the 51st Men's Pilgrimage from Reckendorf to Vierzehnheiligen was held, one year after the grand 50th anniversary in 2024. Pilgrimage leader Michael Schwengler organized the day in the usual tradition: blessing at 8 a.m. in St. Nicholas Parish Church, departure of the pilgrim group, lunch break in Wiesen at the Hellmuth Brewery Inn, and a solemn entry into the basilica in the afternoon.

The highlight, as every year, was the pilgrimage service at 7 p.m. and the subsequent torchlight procession around the baroque pilgrimage basilica – a scene firmly anchored in the Upper Franconian pilgrimage tradition.
