Overview

The Memminger Jahrmarkt 2025 continued the tradition unbroken since 1541. Over nine days, Memmingen's old town opened its showman's market and – Tuesday to Thursday – its large market (Krämermarkt) with over 250 stalls. Around 200,000 visitors from the Allgäu, Swabia, and southern Bavaria flocked to the city. As always, without a beer tent, but with a family day on Friday and Sunday shopping.

Jahrmarkt 2025

In 2025, the Memminger Jahrmarkt once again attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Free Imperial City of the Allgäu. Showmen from southern Germany set up their stalls in the city centre, and market traders from Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, and Austria came with their stalls for Tuesday to Thursday. The Family Day, as every year, drew parents and children to the rides with reduced prices.

Festival Tradition and City Culture

The unusual combination of a city centre location, the absence of a beer tent, and a two-part market (showmen + market traders) makes the Memminger Jahrmarkt a unique folk festival in Bavaria – with a distinct market character and strong ties to the Memmingen business community.
