Overview

The Medieval Castle Festival at Kriebstein Castle on Ascension Day 2025 brought four days of medieval spectacle to Saxony's most beautiful knight's castle. Craftsmen, knights, jesters, and minstrels delighted thousands of visitors; the evening spectacle with fire magic on three evenings was among the highlights. The tradition continued seamlessly, laying the groundwork for the 2026 Castle Festival.

Castle Festival 2025

On Ascension Day 2025, Kriebstein Castle opened for the annual Medieval Castle Festival. Four days of medieval spectacle — craftsmen in the castle courtyard, knights in sword fights, jesters, minstrels with hurdy-gurdy and bagpipes, fire jugglers and eaters during the evening spectacle.

Over the long weekend, the festival attracted thousands of visitors from Central Saxony, Dresden, and all over Saxony. The late Gothic architecture of the castle, its rocky location above the Zschopau Valley, and the authentic medieval atmosphere were among the success factors — and laid the foundation for the 2026 edition.
