Overview

Instead of the classic medieval Advent market, an alternative format was offered for the first time in 2025: the "Adventsmarkt Lichterglanz" (Advent Market Glittering Lights) at Ziegelberg Castle in Mettlach on Sunday, December 7, 2025. The ceramic Christmas tree in the market square was illuminated as usual.

The municipality of Mettlach experimented in 2025 with a new concept that departed from the classic medieval Advent market. The "Adventsmarkt Lichterglanz" at Ziegelberg Castle offered a one-day, more compact format. The ceramic Christmas tree in the market square remained illuminated throughout the Advent season, thus remaining an attraction for visitors from the entire region.

Programme

Adventsmarkt Lichterglanz: one day around Ziegelberg Castle in Mettlach, with its own stalls, catering, Advent music, and a greatly changed overall concept compared to the classic medieval market. The illumination of the ceramic Christmas tree took place concurrently.
