MDR Musiksommer 2025

The 34th edition of the MDR Musiksommer in summer 2025 continued the festival's tradition since 1992. Over four weeks, around 50 concerts were held at venues across Central Germany — from palace parks to monastery courtyards. The MDR Symphony Orchestra under chief conductor Dennis Russell Davies, international soloists, and crossover ensembles brought classical, jazz, and new music to the region.

The live broadcasts on MDR Klassik and 3sat reached a supra-regional audience, underscoring the Musiksommer's position as the most important classical platform in Central Germany — a tradition that will continue in 2026 with the motto 'Nature as a Stage'.
