In 2025, the MDR Musiksommer also visited the festival hall of Wartburg Castle in Eisenach. The concert was part of the multi-week season and brought high-calibre classical music to the UNESCO World Heritage site. The historic setting — the scene of the Sängerkrieg and Luther's Bible translation — provided, as always, an unparalleled framework for the concert experience.

In August 2025, the MDR Musiksommer once again visited Wartburg Castle. The concerts organized by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk brought internationally renowned soloists to the historic festival hall — a venue whose medieval acoustics, combined with high medieval architectural elements, offer one of Germany's most impressive listening experiences, especially when paired with contemporary piano and chamber music.
