Martinstag Parade Samtens

In 2025, the municipality of Samtens again held its traditional Martinstag Parade. On the eve of St. Martin's Day, children paraded through the streets with their lanterns – small lights in the November darkness that gave the parade its atmospheric ambiance.

A St. Martin's bonfire, St. Martin's pastries, and hot drinks were part of the festival, organized by the church communities of Altefähr-Rambin-Samtens. The parade was an expression of village community and Christian tradition in the mild west of the island of Rügen.
