Edition 2025 — Marktplatz Open-Air Westerfilde
The Marktplatz Open-Air series in Westerfilde and Bodelschwingh has been running for several years as a cultural program for urban renewal in the Mengede district. The 2025 edition took place, as usual, in late summer on the upgraded Westerfilde Market Square — with children's theatre, concerts, and open-air cinema. Funded by the federal-state program Soziale Stadt, free admission.
The open-air series is one of the successful cultural enhancement projects of urban renewal in Westerfilde/Bodelschwingh — it shows that neighbourhood work can have an impact beyond concrete. Even in 2025, the Marktplatz Open-Air was well-attended; the format will continue in 2026.
