Overview

The 32nd edition of the Markkleeberg City Festival took place in May 2025. Three days of festive weekend with market stalls, stage program, city sports tournaments, and a children's flea market transformed the town hall square and festival grounds into a colorful festive backdrop. The 21st 7-Lakes Hike in the New Lake District took place concurrently, bringing additional visitors to the city.

Markkleeberg City Festival 2025

In 2025, the Markkleeberg City Festival once again proved to be a modernly staged community festival brand in the Leipzig district. The opening by Mayor Karsten Schütze at the town hall square, the stage program at the festival grounds with live bands and cover artists, the city sports tournaments on Saturday, and the children's flea market characterized the weekend. The 21st 7-Lakes Hike in the Leipzig New Lake District took place concurrently, bringing thousands of hikers to the city on Markkleeberger See and Cospudener See.
