The Gera Märchenmarkt 2025 ran from November 27 to December 23 with 38 life-sized Grimm fairy tale figures in the city center, 90 stalls between the Stadtmuseum and Marktplatz, the characteristic 7,800-LED Christmas tree, and a daily stage program. Free admission.
Review of Märchenmarkt 2025
As in previous years, the Gera Märchenmarkt 2025 attracted thousands of visitors from Thuringia and neighboring federal states. 38 life-sized Grimm fairy tale figures shaped the festival mile between the Stadtmuseum, Bachgasse, Johannisgasse, and Marktplatz, complemented by around 90 stalls offering mulled wine, bratwurst, stollen, gingerbread, and crafts.
2025 Program
The official opening in November was traditionally designed with a carillon and laser light show. On stage, school choirs, regional bands, and children's programs alternated daily. Santa Claus distributed gifts to children every day, and the LED Christmas tree with 7,800 lights served as the visual landmark of the market.
