The previous edition, Manifesta 15, took place in Barcelona in 2024, addressing the metropolitan region, social inequality, and the relationship between the Catalan capital and its surroundings. The next biennale in 2026 will come to Germany for the first time — the Ruhr Area.
Manifesta 15 Barcelona 2024 closed on November 24, 2024. Manifesta traditionally changes location every two years; in 2026, the Ruhr Area will be the host — the first German location since the series began in 1996.
Programme
Over 90 artists in more than 12 metropolitan areas between Barcelona and its surroundings. Thematic focus: inequality and cooperation in the metropolitan region.
