Overview

The Mammutmarsch Ruhrgebiet 2025 saw hundreds of hikers tackle 30, 42, or 55 kilometers through the industrial heritage landscape of Duisburg and the northern Ruhr area. Starting at the Innenhafen or in Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, the routes around the Malakoff Tower and the Tetraeder Bottrop were completed. An established endurance hiking event that has been part of the nationwide Mammutmarsch calendar for years.

Mammutmarsch GmbH hosted the Ruhr area edition of its endurance hiking format in 2025. Hundreds of participants completed one of the three optional distances through the former industrial landscape of the northern Ruhr area. With highlight stations around the Malakoff Tower, Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, and Tetraeder Bottrop, the event combines industrial heritage and endurance sports into a unique experience — a day trip through 200 years of mining and steelmaking history.
