Overview

The Maifeuer Westerdeichstrich 2025 burned on April 30th on the Stinteck beach parking lot. The community and the volunteer fire department continued the long-standing Walpurgis tradition — hundreds of residents from Westerdeichstrich and the surrounding area gathered on the beach.

In 2025, the Maifeuer Westerdeichstrich again took place on the eve of May 1st at the Stinteck beach parking lot. The volunteer fire department and the community organized the catering, and from 7:30 PM, the wood fire burned on Walpurgis Night — embedded in the Dithmarschen May bonfire calendar with over 40 fires burning simultaneously.

As every year, many families used the fire for an evening stroll on the beach on Walpurgis Night — a custom that has been firmly established in Westerdeichstrich for generations.
