Overview

The Maibaum-Fest 2025 took place in sunny weather on the Güster village square. With the joint raising of the Maypole and the subsequent village festival, the event followed the established tradition, which has been maintained in Güster, as in many places in the Herzogtum Lauenburg district, for generations.

As the municipal report states, the sun shone "from a cloudless sky" in 2025 during the Maypole raising. The firefighters were actively involved – Güster's Maypole tradition has been jointly supported by the volunteer fire department and the village youth for years.

The focus was again on the actual raising of the Maypole on the village square, complemented by catering and a convivial gathering. In the state of Schleswig-Holstein, this form of village festival is one of those traditional events that maintain their firm place in the spring calendar without grand staging.
