Edition 2025 — MaerzMusik
The 24th edition of MaerzMusik took place in March 2025 with the established eight-venue format — Haus der Berliner Festspiele, Akademie der Künste, Radialsystem, silent green, MaHalla, and others. In 2025, world premieres, international companies, and the full spectrum of contemporary sound art remained the focus: avant-garde composition, sound art, performance, live electronics, and sound installation. Kamila Metwaly continued her curatorial direction, which has elevated the festival to a leading position in the European new music scene.
The 2025 edition followed the established 25-year format: ten days of festival, eight venues, international program of contemporary music, sound art, and performance. Curator Kamila Metwaly further established the festival as the most important German address for new music. With the 25th anniversary edition in 2026, the tradition will continue with a special focus on the human voice.
