In 2025, Föhr erLesen took place in its classic form as an island literary festival in September. There was no Lyrical Mudflat Hike in 2025 — it was developed as a new prelude format for the 2026 edition. The 2025 main festival focused on established formats: hall readings, concert readings, and guided literary tours across the island.
Föhr erLesen 2025
The 2025 edition of the main festival took place classically in September across the entire island of Föhr. Readings in libraries, small theaters, and churches, complemented by musically accompanied formats, bus readings, and themed tours through the island villages. A Lyrical Mudflat Hike as a prelude did not yet exist — this format will be offered for the first time in 2026, in response to growing demand for unusual reading settings.
