Season Opening on the Sülzwiesen

The Lüneburger Frühjahrsmarkt is the grand public festival that ushers in the festival summer of the Hanseatic city. The venue is the traditional Sülzwiesen festival grounds — Lüneburg's central fairground. From Thursday, April 30th, to Monday, May 4th, 2026, the grounds will be transformed into an amusement park with 62 attractions, a food mile, and a grand stage program.

The range extends from classic family attractions to high-speed carousels:

• Ferris wheel with views over Lüneburg and the Heath
• Roller coasters and high-speed carousels
• Classic rides: dodgem cars, Polyp, Break Dance
• Family and children's carousels: carousel horses, fairytale rides, bouncy castles
• Shooting galleries, grabber machines, games of chance
• Food and drink stands: bratwurst, crêpes, cotton candy, candied almonds

Grand Fireworks on May 1st

The highlight of the weekend is the grand fireworks display on Friday, May 1st, 2026, at 9:45 PM. The Sülzwiesen festival grounds will be packed, and the pyrotechnic show will illuminate the Lüneburg spring sky. One of the most beautiful fireworks displays in the region.

Happy Hour to Kick Off

On Thursday, April 30th, from 2 PM to 4 PM, the Happy Hour offers reduced ride prices on all major attractions — the ideal opportunity to try out the full spectrum.

Lüneburg Festival Tradition

The Frühjahrsmarkt has been held on the Sülzwiesen for decades. In autumn, the no less famous Sülzmarkt follows — both are part of the DNA of the Lüneburg festival calendar. The Sülzwiesen are centrally located, within walking distance of the old town — a festival visit and a stroll through the city can be ideally combined.
