Overview

The Luher Martini-Kirwa 2024 took place from November 8th to 10th in the 1000-person festival tent at the festival grounds. As every year, the program was marked by the Rotzlöffel-Tanz on Friday, Grogotz-Weißbier on Saturday, and the traditional Sunday customs (Kirwamoidler-Abholen, Baumaustanzen, Goass-Tanz). Admission €3 advance, €5 at the door – moderate prices reflecting the Upper Palatinate folk festival tradition. The Luher Kirwaleit successfully organized the festival for the entire market community.

The 2024 edition confirmed the enduring popularity of the Luher Martini-Kirwa. The 1000-person festival tent was filled to capacity on the main evenings. Visitors from Luhe-Wildenau, the neighboring communities of Wernberg-Köblitz, Pfreimd, and Vohenstrauß, as well as from the wider Upper Palatinate region, participated in the festival.

The tradition of the Goass-Tanz and the Upper Palatinate Kirwa customs (Rotzlöffel, Kirwamoidler-Abholen, Baumaustanzen) were upheld as every year by the Luher Kirwaleit – a youth group that passes on the customs from generation to generation.
