Overview

In 2025, the Lößnitz Christmas Market with Grand Miners' Parade traditionally took place on the third weekend of Advent. Opening on Friday evening with the star march of the kindergartens, the Grand Miners' Parade on Sunday evening with around 450 miners in Habit costume, and live broadcast on a 21 m² LED screen. A brass choir, brass ensemble, Lößnitz Bronze Carillon, and fairy tale hours framed the weekend.

Ore Mountains Advent in Lößnitz 2025

The 334th edition since 1691 continued the tradition in 2025, establishing Lößnitz in the Ore Mountains district as a fixture in the Ore Mountains Advent calendar. The market in the market square opened on Friday evening after the star march of the kindergartens and remained open throughout the weekend. Miners' associations from the region marched in on Sunday evening in full Habit costume — around 450 men in black uniforms with white feathered hats — the live broadcast on the 21 m² LED screen made the spectacle visible even to those further back.
