Overview

The 2025 edition of the Long Night of the Organ opened the Hamburg Organ Summer 2025 in early summer at the Elbphilharmonie, as usual. A multi-hour opening concert featured organists from the five main churches, the Mariendom, and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater. The Organ Summer continued with weekly concerts until early September 2025.

The 2025 edition confirmed the established position of the Hamburg Organ Summer as the most significant organ summer series in Northern Germany. With the opening night at the Elbphilharmonie and the weekly distribution across the five main churches and the Mariendom, the format offered a comprehensive cross-section of organ literature and Hamburg's organ landscape.

In recent years, the Orgelstadt Hamburg association has consistently expanded the series and made it visible to an international audience – with English program booklets, streaming offers, and curated thematic focuses. This makes the Organ Summer one of the most distinguished classical festival formats in the state of Hamburg.
