Overview

The 10th edition of the Lohbrügge Soapbox Derby in September 2025 marked the tenth anniversary of its revival in 2014. Children and teenagers from Lohbrügge and the Bergedorf district competed against each other in soapbox cars in Leuschnerpark — a continuous neighborhood festival tradition.

2025 Review

The 10th edition celebrated the tenth anniversary of the tradition's revival. The Lohbrügge neighborhood association organized the event together with the LOLA Cultural Center. Multiple age groups, the family-friendly accompanying program with a bouncy castle and face painting — all at the proven location in Leuschnerpark.

Lohbrügge, a district in the Bergedorf borough, is the most populous district and, through the soapbox derby, maintains an anchor of traditional neighborhood culture in an otherwise highly suburbanized area.
