2026 marks the first edition of the merged Literaturfestival Allgäu-Schwaben. In 2025, the LFAS did not yet exist in this cross-regional form; the festival unites for the first time the previously separate literary series from the Allgäu and Northern Swabia into a joint format.
The Literaturfestival Allgäu-Schwaben (LFAS) launches with the 2026 edition as a completely new, cross-regional festival. There was no independent edition under this name in 2025: the project emerged from the merger of previously separate literary series and activities in the Allgäu and Northern Swabia. The Schwabenakademie Irsee is the organizer, aiming to create a literary network for the entire region by pooling resources — with 32 readings at over 30 locations starting February 2026.
