Overview

The 49th Literarische Woche Bremen took place in early 2025. As since 1976, the Rudolf-Alexander-Schröder Foundation organized a nine-day festival with readings, discussions, and exhibitions at various cultural venues in the city, along with the awarding of the Bremen Literature Prize.

The 2025 edition followed the established format of the Literarische Woche: nine days of readings, conversations, and exhibitions at venues such as the Zentralbibliothek, Kulturkirche St. Stephani, Rathaus, and Die Glocke, curated around a guiding theme. The highlight was again the awarding of the renowned Bremen Literature Prize and its advancement award. The festival, supported by the Rudolf-Alexander-Schröder Foundation, once again confirmed its role as a firm fixture in the cultural year of the Hanseatic city.
