Edition 2025 — Literarischer Sommer Aachen
The 2025 edition of Literarischer Sommer / Literaire Zomer again offered a dense German-Dutch reading program between Aachen, Düsseldorf, Neuss, Mönchengladbach, and Dutch sister cities. Aachen shaped the festival summer as one of the main venues with several evenings at the Ludwig Forum, the city library, and bookstores.
Review 2025
The 2025 edition was once again a showcase of Dutch-German-Flemish contemporary literature. From established authors to young poetic voices, readings were offered in German and Dutch, often with simultaneous translation or bilingual moderation.
Embedded in Aachen's City Culture
The Ludwig Forum, the city library, and several independent bookstores in Aachen hosted the readings — a proven constellation that firmly anchors the festival in Aachen's urban culture. WDR5 was the media partner.
