Overview

The 2025 lit.eifel season, as usual, spanned seven months (April-November) and several Eifel locations (Monschau, Blankenheim, Mechernich, Bad Münstereifel, Kall, Roetgen, and others). A number of renowned contemporary authors read at Eifel venues. The association lit.eifel e.V. — supported by the NRW Ministry for Culture and Science — consolidated the program format in 2025 and announced the current focus program for 2026, including the Frank Goosen reading in Kall.

lit.eifel 2025 — Consolidation of the Eifel Literature Festival

The 2025 season followed the proven concept: readings in unusual Eifel locations, spread over seven months. Venues included monasteries, rectories, historic mills, castles, and community halls in Monschau, Bad Münstereifel, Blankenheim, Mechernich, Kall, Roetgen, and other smaller Eifel communities.

Following the 2025 season, the board of lit.eifel e.V. conceptualized the 2026 highlights: Frank Goosen, Harald Welzer, and Jehona Kicaj as central readings, alongside the continuation of the Eifel Youth Literature Prize with the theme "Hoffen & Träumen" (Hoping & Dreaming) for its 13th edition. Continuous support from the NRW Ministry for Culture and Science ensures the festival's long-term financial stability.
