Overview

Premiere of the Lichtermarkt im Tobiaspark Lünen from November 20 to December 23, 2025, as the city's new medieval Christmas market. For five weeks, Tobiaspark became a stage for folk-medieval music, shanty, hydromel tasting, and crafts. The response was sufficient to secure the second edition in 2026.

The first edition in 2025 established the concept: Tobiaspark as an atmospheric park setting, fire bowls and torches as visual anchors, mead and hydromel as the culinary profile. On weekends, a rotating band lineup played medieval-folk, shanty, and fantasy acoustic music. Artisans offered blacksmithing, felt products, and bow making. Free admission. The market targeted families as well as the medieval/fantasy scene of the northern Ruhr area.

Programme

2025 Program: Weekend live music with local medieval-folk and shanty bands, hydromel tastings, open fire with stick bread, blacksmith and bow-making demonstrations.
