Overview

The 2025 Christmas market in Lichtenfels ran from Friday, November 29, to Monday, December 23, 2025. In 2025, the market also operated under the dual theme 'Christmas Market and Fairy Tale Forest': classic stalls with handicrafts on the market square and the highly praised Fairy Tale Forest with its railway and witch's house daily from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Live music on Fridays and Sundays at 5 p.m. at the pavilion. Special opening of the Fairy Tale Forest December 27–30, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The 2025 season followed the usual schedule: about four weeks for the main market, daily Fairy Tale Forest, and two live music events per week. The Fairy Tale Forest Railway ran its laps, and the Witch's House with readings at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. was consistently well-attended — especially on the long Advent weekends.

With its dual concept of a 'classic Christmas market plus Fairy Tale Forest for children,' Lichtenfels has established itself as a family destination in the region. The market is known beyond the region (Bambolino magazine, deutsche-weihnachtsmaerkte.de) and attracts families from across the Coburg region and Upper Main-Jura.
