Overview

The 2025 Leipzig Christmas Market opened its 7 market areas in the city center from late November until just before Christmas Eve. Over 300 stalls, the medieval market 'Alt Leipzig', the Feuerzangenbowle pyramid at Nikolaikirchhof, and the Fairy Tale Forest at Augustusplatz once again shaped the scene — a classic of the Central German Advent season.

Christmas Market 2025

During Advent 2025, the Leipzig Christmas Market reopened its 7 market areas. Over 300 stalls offered Erzgebirge folk art, Saxon Christstollen, regional food products, mulled wine, and Feuerzangenbowle. The approximately 20-meter-high Christmas tree on the Markt, with its numerous lights, was once again the visual centerpiece.

As every year for decades, the market was characterized by a blend of tradition (medieval market, smoker workshops), family entertainment (Fairy Tale Forest, carousel), and musical culture (Thomanerchor performances) — one of Central Germany's largest and most popular Advent events.
