The Laurentiusfest 2024 took place from August 9th to 11th at Waldbad Zwenkau as part of the celebrations for the town's 1050th anniversary. Three days of Volksfest with tribute bands (Rolling Stones, Die Ärzte, AC/DC), quad racing, dragon boat races, beach volleyball, skating, and a handball tournament — an expanded anniversary edition.

Laurentiusfest 2024 — Anniversary Highlight 1050 Years of Zwenkau

On the occasion of the celebrations for Zwenkau's 1050th anniversary (first documented mention in 974), the Laurentiusfest 2024 was expanded into a three-day "Anniversary Highlight in Summer." From August 9th to 11th, 2024, thousands of visitors gathered at Waldbad Zwenkau for a particularly extensive program.

Three stages with tribute bands to the Rolling Stones, Die Ärzte, and AC/DC, mini disco, quad racing, beach volleyball tournament, dragon boat races, skating contest, handball tournament, laser shooting, and performances by several choirs and dance groups — an exceptionally comprehensive program worthy of the occasion. The 2026 edition will return to a more compact two-day format.
