Overview
In 2025, the Laternenfest & Lichtermeer once again brought light to the Seaport's dark season on Sunday, November 9. During the day, the city center transformed into a colorful world of experience with lantern crafting, face painting, and family activities, accompanied by Sunday shopping. In the evening, the grand lantern parade with marching bands and an illuminated samba group wound its way through the Havenwelten along the Weser. Hundreds of glowing lanterns and the communal singing of lantern songs made the festival once again one of Bremerhaven's most atmospheric autumn events—with free admission and great family turnout.
The 2025 edition followed the proven format: a colorful afternoon program in the city center with lantern crafting and face painting, followed by the grand lantern parade in the Havenwelten in the early evening. Marching bands and an illuminated samba group accompanied the procession, which bathed the maritime harbor scenery in atmospheric light with hundreds of glowing lanterns and communal singing. Free admission made the family festival accessible to all.
