The Church District of Niederlausitz maintains a long tradition of brass festivals — brass choir work is a core repertoire of Protestant church music in the region. In 2025, brass players gathered for regional workshops, concerts, and rehearsals, which also served as preparation for the major State Brass Festival weekend in 2026 in Lübben.
The Paul Gerhardt Memorial Year 2026 provides a special thematic focus: hymns, texts, and theology of the hymn writer who worked in Lübben are at the center of the liturgical and musical program.
