Overview

The State Literary Days are a travelling festival, held every two years in a different municipality in Saxony-Anhalt. The edition prior to Dessau-Roßlau took place in 2024 in another city within the state.

The State Literary Days Saxony-Anhalt have been designed as a travelling festival since 1995: every two years, a new city in the state applies to be the host. The state of Saxony-Anhalt supports the selected festival with significant funding — in 2026, it's 40,000 Euros for Dessau-Roßlau. With this concept, literary attention rotates through the cultural landscape of the state — from Halle to the Altmark region and into the Anhalt region.
