Overview

In 2025, the Schwaan region also participated in "Kunst Offen", the statewide studio day on Pentecost in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Artists and artisans opened their studios and workshops, showcasing ceramics, painting, sculpture, and glass art in the historic painters' town.

Since 1994, "Kunst Offen" has been a fixture on the Pentecost calendar in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In 2025, numerous studios, galleries, and workshops in Schwaan and the surrounding area once again opened their doors. Visitors experienced how works are created, spoke with the artists, and could purchase originals directly. For Schwaan, as Mecklenburg's only historic artists' colony, this studio day holds special significance — it highlights the connection between art history and the vibrant creative scene around the town on the Warnow river.
