Edition 2024 — Kultursommer Spitalgarten
The 2024 Kultursommer im Spitalgarten took place at the end of July under the same conditions as 2026: three to four concert evenings in the courtyard between the town hall and the Spitalkirche, biennial rhythm, top-class program ranging from cabaret, chanson, and world music. The festival once again confirmed its place in Schwandorf's summer cultural calendar, leading to its re-establishment in 2026.
Kultursommer 2024 in Retrospect
In 2024, the Schwandorf City Cultural Office once again utilized the unique setting of the Spitalgarten for its biennial concert series. As in previous years, the format was a seated concert under the plane trees, featuring highly curated acts and a mix of Bavarian, German-language, and international voices. The audience remained loyal – many concerts in 2024 were sold out.
Biennial Schedule
For years, the Kultursommer has alternated with other open-air series in the Spitalgarten (open-air cinema, special concerts). No Kultursommer festival took place in 2025; program planning for 2026 began in autumn 2025, and ticket sales started on May 5th, 2026.
