The last season under artistic director Maren Matthes ran from Pentecost to mid-August 2025 with around 85 events throughout the Grimm Heimat NordHessen.

2025 was the final season for long-time artistic director Maren Matthes, who had shaped the festival since 1999. Programmatically, Kultursommer remained true to its dual pillars of classical music and literature – Pentecost opening in Wilhelmsthal, Summer Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic to conclude. The season once again attracted around 18,000 visitors to the region's 50 venues.

Programme

Around 85 events at 35 venues, opening in Schlosspark Wilhelmsthal, readings, classical concerts, and cabaret in North Hessian villages and half-timbered towns.
