Overview

The 18th KUKUNA gathered several thousand visitors on 13 September 2025 in the old town of Ludwigslust. Over twenty venues offered music (Jazz, Pop, Rock, Classical), readings, art exhibitions, textile workshops, and organ demonstrations. A closing ceremony at midnight ended the cultural evening.

As usual, the 2025 edition offered a dense programme across more than twenty venues. Concerts and readings were held in the courtyard of the town hall and historic churches, new exhibitions were opened in the galleries, and hands-on activities such as repair cafés and textile courses were offered in workshops and shops. Vegetarian-vegan food stations provided refreshments. Stilt walkers and light performers populated the city centre, and a lantern-moon installation illuminated the sightlines of the Baroque city. The mayor and musicians jointly concluded the night at 11:55 PM – a closing ceremony for KUKUNA that has been proven effective for years.
