Overview

The 2025 Pumpkin Festival at Köhlerhof Wiethagen also followed the proven format with a witch school, pumpkin carving by the campfire, soup service, and farm artisans. As in previous years, around 200 witch certificates were issued to children — proof of the festival's reach in the Rostocker Heide.

As every autumn, the Forst- und Köhlerhof Wiethagen opened its doors in 2025 for the Pumpkin Festival. Children brought their pumpkins, carved them at the farm, attended the witch school, and collected their own witch certificates. The farm kitchen served pumpkin soup and grilled dishes, stick bread was baked over the campfire, and textile artisans and woodcarvers worked in front of the audience. The farm attracts several hundred visitors from Rostock and the surrounding area each year for the autumn festival.
