Overview

The 2025 Whitsun festival in Schwäbisch Hall upheld the Sieder tradition. For four days, the market square, Michaelstreppe, and Haalplatz were once again transformed into the stage setting for one of southern Germany's oldest folk festivals.

The 2025 Kuchen- und Brunnenfest took place traditionally over the Whitsun weekend. The salt boilers performed their historical dances on the steps of the Michaelskirche, gunpowder and cannon smoke filled the market square, salt was boiled and the Haller Heller was minted at Haalplatz. Up to 12,000 visitors celebrated the four-day festival with live music and Hohenlohe specialties.

As every year, the amusement park at Haalplatz offered a Ferris wheel, carousels, and shooting galleries, while Unterwöhrd became a large festival mile. The festival remained a commitment to the history of the free imperial city and its salt-boiling tradition — and at the same time a lively city festival that brings together young and old.
