Spring wine festival of the Kreuznach city vintners on the romantic Roseninsel by the Nahe
The Roseninsel in Bad Kreuznach is a small, park-like island in the middle of the Nahe river. It owes its name to the numerous rose bushes that give it a blooming appearance in spring and summer. The island is accessible via bridges, is well-vegetated, and a popular recreational spot. During the wine spring, it transforms into a tasting park where the city vintners set up their stalls.
Bad Kreuznach is one of the few major German cities with its own vineyards within the city limits. The Kreuznach city vintners have been cultivating the urban vineyards for generations and are among the most distinguished producers in the Nahe wine region. At the Weinfrühling, they present their young and older vintages, Rieslings, Pinot Blancs, Pinot Noirs, and regional specialties.
At the end of April, the Nahe river is still calm after the winter floods, the island begins to turn green, and the first roses show buds. The weather is usually mild, and the hours of sunshine increase. The Weinfrühling benefits from this spirit of renewal and is the start of the warm season for many Bad Kreuznach residents.
Access to the Roseninsel is barrier-free, with level and paved paths. Admission to the Weinfrühling is free; payment is only for wine and food. This makes the festival easily accessible for families with strollers and visitors with limited mobility.
The weekend on the Roseninsel traditionally marks the start of the Bad Kreuznach wine festival season. The city vintners open their stalls, complemented by food and a relaxed atmosphere in the park-like setting. The exact program will be published by the organizers in the spring.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the city of Bad Kreuznach and the city vintners in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
