Edition 2025 — Pfingstritt
The Kötztinger Pfingstritt 2025 took place on Whit Monday, June 9. As in previous years, over 700 riders rode from the market square of Bad Kötzting through the Zellertal valley to Steinbühl. The Pentecost Festival Week framed the ride with beer tapping, a folk festival on the festival grounds, festival play performances in the festival hall, and traditional evenings. Thousands of spectators lined the procession route.
In 2025, the Pfingstritt was celebrated again in its traditional form. Over 700 riders assembled on Whit Monday, June 9, at the market square and rode in an orderly fashion through the Zellertal valley to Steinbühl. The festive church service, the return to Bad Kötzting, and the Pentecost Bride reception followed the centuries-old ritual.
As usual, the Pentecost Festival Week brought thousands of guests to the small town in the Upper Palatinate. The historical festival play in the festival hall, which depicts the history of the Pfingstritt, was sold out on several evenings.
