Overview

The 21st edition of Körber Studio Young Directing took place in 2025, once again bringing together the most important final productions from German-speaking directing schools at the Thalia Theater Hamburg in Gaußstraße. Five days of spoken theatre in competition, with a jury, audience talks, and the awarding of the €10,000 production funding.

In 2025, Körber Studio Young Directing once again proved its role as the most important showcase for emerging directors in the German-speaking world. Students from directing programs in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Salzburg, Bern, Zurich, and Vienna presented their final works — from experimental performances to classic spoken theatre adaptations.

The festival is jointly organized by Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Körber Foundation, and the Theater Academy Hamburg, under the patronage of the German Theatre Association. The venues are Thalia in Gaußstraße in Hamburg-Ottensen and the Theater Academy at Wiesendamm.
