Klangteppich – Festival for Music of the Iranian Diaspora

Klangteppich V marked an important milestone for the Berlin festival: with its fifth edition, the festival arc developed since 2018 had visibly grown, and the curatorial profile was clearly established. The four world premieres ranged stylistically from folkloric revivals and experimental heavy metal adaptations to pure sound art pieces.

The edition traditionally took place at the Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg at Moritzplatz. As with previous editions, concentrated concert situations with space for an audience of around 200 people defined the atmosphere. Klangteppich e.V. demonstrated that the format functions simultaneously as a festival, an industry platform, and a residency program – a model that has gained recognition in Berlin's festival landscape.
