Overview

The 2025 Kirwa took place in the usual format on September 13/14 — with the sixth edition of the Historical Fire Brigade special show. Oldtimer tour from Autohof Bergler on Saturday morning, show in Weiden's old town in the afternoon (2–4 PM), main show on Sunday morning on the Windischeschenbach town square.

The Windischer Kirwa 2025 was traditionally celebrated on the Sunday after the Nativity of Mary. For the sixth consecutive year, the Historische Feuerwehr Windischeschenbach e.V. brought around 30 historical fire engines from across the Free State to the Upper Palatinate. The Magirus-Deutz with its built-in beer tap was again the special attraction of the show in 2025.

The festival weekend was, as always, accompanied by dance evenings at the inn 'Zum weißen Schwan', live street music on the town square on Sunday afternoon, and the typical Zoigl service in the open home breweries. The Kirwa thus counts among the unmistakable festivals in the Oberpfälzer Wald — a combination of Upper Palatinate home tradition, home-brewed beer culture, and the special show of the Historical Fire Brigade.
