Edition 2026 — Schützenfest MG-Venn
The Schützenfest and Kirmes Venn 2026 are expected to take place in mid-September (corresponding to the new date permanently established in 2025). Organizer: St. Josef-Bruderschaft Venn von 1884 e.V. Locations: Mürrigerplatz, Kalvarienberg, Gasthof Loers. The final festival dates will be published on stjosef-venn.de.
The 2026 Schützen year will be marked by King Ralf Pieszcek with ministers Siegfried Hüpkes and Harald; the brotherhood's parade and High Mass with the nine Honschaften.
Programme
Program Structure Schützenfest MG-Venn 2026 (Previous Year's Pattern)
- Mairichten and Maibaum — Erection of the Maibaum by the Honschaften.
- Serenade — musical tribute to the royal couples.
- High Mass — festive Catholic service for the patronal feast of St. Joseph.
- Grand Parade through Venn with all nine Honschaften, music corps, and standard bearers.
- Klompenball — traditional dance evening in clogs (Klompen), Lower Rhine Schützen culture.
