Overview

In 2025, the Patron Saint's Day and Kirchweihfest St. Bartholomä on Königssee was also celebrated at the end of August: a solemn Field Mass for the miners and pilgrims with Christmas Shooters and brass band, Alpine Pilgrimage, and Kirchweih dance. Arrival by boat.

The 2025 edition followed the traditional format: On the festival day at the end of August, the Berchtesgaden miners and pilgrims celebrated a Field Mass at the St. Bartholomä pilgrimage church, accompanied by the Königssee Christmas Shooters and a brass band.

As every year, the festival was linked to the historic Alpine Pilgrimage from Maria Alm across the Steinerne Meer. After the service, the festival concluded with a Kirchweih dance and social gathering at the St. Bartholomä inn — in the unique setting between Königssee and the Watzmann, accessible only by boat.
