Overview

The Wachenrother Kerwa 2025 was celebrated in the classic five-day format from Thursday to Monday in mid-October. The Kerwasburschen and -madli Wachenroth in full traditional costume characterized the scene, and the festival tent was the focal point of the five days. As in previous years, the Kerwa brought the market town on the edge of the Steigerwald together for a long weekend.

The 2025 edition followed the established five-day schedule. Thursday opening with beer tapping, Friday and Saturday evenings with dancing in the festival tent, Sunday with a festive church service and family day, Monday evening with the winding down of Kerwamontag. The Kerwasburschen and -madli appeared in traditional costume, and the festival tent filled with Wachenroth citizens and guests from the Steigerwald foothills.

Wachenroth — on the edge of the Steigerwald Nature Park — proudly maintains this tradition. Alongside the Carnival parade and the Maypole festival, the Kerwa is one of the three major community events in the market town.
