Overview

The St. Vitus Kirchweih 2025 in Hirschaid once again marked the festive conclusion of the Kirchweih season for the market town of Hirschaid. Four days of festival tent, amusement rides, and the traditional Kirchweih procession on Saturday attracted thousands of visitors from the Bamberg district and the surrounding region. A festival mass, morning pint, and family day characterized Sunday.

The main Kerwa 2025 proceeded in the usual Franconian tradition. The beer tapping on Friday opened the festival tent operations, the Saturday procession with traditional costume and music groups was the social highlight, and on Sunday, the festival mass brought the community together in the parish church of St. Vitus. The morning pint with brass music formed the transition to the family afternoon with amusement rides.

With the Hirschaid main Kirchweih, the season of the seven Hirschaid district Kirchweihen also concluded in 2025, which were spread over the summer months from June to early September — a remarkable density of Upper Franconian Kirchweih traditions.
