Overview
In 2025, Schneckenlohe once again celebrated its traditional Kirchweih in September. From the kickoff with the VfR Kerwa-Event, through the tree raising, festive church service, and Sunday parade, to Kerwamontag, the village community accompanied the multi-day Volksfest, once again demonstrating how deeply the Franconian Kerwa tradition is rooted in Upper Franconia.
The 2025 Kerwa followed the established four-day schedule. VfR Schneckenlohe opened with its Kerwa-Event, and on Saturday, club members erected the decorated Kirchweihbaum. On Sunday, villagers and guests gathered for the festive church service, followed by the parade and a grand program in the festival tent. Kerwamontag traditionally concluded the festival with a Frühschoppen, before the Kirchweihbaum remained standing until the following year – a symbol of the living tradition in the Frankenwald.
