Overview

The Schönberg Kirchweih 2025 took place from August 14th to 18th, 2025. The 25-meter-high Kirwabaum was traditionally erected by the Kirwaboum Schönberg with cannon shots; the festival tent, Vuuglsuppn, parade, and festive church service were part of the program as every year. One of the most vibrant Franconian Kirchweih traditions in the Nürnberger Land.

The 2025 edition was extensively covered by the Nuremberg local press (Nürnberger Nachrichten). Reports included the erection of the 25-meter Kirwabaum — one of the most spectacular erection choreographies in the entire region — and the traditional cannon shots that echoed throughout the Pegnitz Valley. The Kirwaboum Schönberg reliably carried the festival again in 2025.

The Schönberg Kirwa is considered one of the most distinctive Franconian Kirchweihen in the Middle Franconian region — both because of the height of the Kirwabaum and the consistently maintained tradition of Vuuglsuppn and cannon shots. Families from all over the Pegnitz Valley regularly come to the Kirwa, many also from outside the Nürnberger Land.
